I needed some ideas to kick start our “creating order” endeavor.

I took note of some of our greatest needs and decided to start there.

No. 1:

Family Communication

“Hey babe, we need more toothpaste” or “We are having dinner with the Jones’ on Friday” often get communicated and then quickly forgotten. I want to find little ways to stay on the same page (with the little details of life) in the midst of the craziest weeks.

Chalkboard paint and cork boards inside cabinets,  seem like a great idea! Lists, notes, calendars all in one common place, all tucked away keeping our kitchen from seeming cluttered. I like it!

Anniston’s Education

It seems like whenever Anni and I spend time reading we read the same books over and over.
1. Because she loves those books.
2. Because I haven’t take the time to organize her books so the
same books are on the top of the stack every time.

Using these Ikea spice racks as bookshelves seems like a great way to solve that problem. Keeping books visible and on different racks seems like a great way to create a little more organization  in her place space.

My Work Space

Productivity lacks when I spend more time trying to find materials than I do actually creating.

I need to create order in my workspace.

I have added this desk to my “I’d love it if you could build this for me honey” list.

Date Night

A chance to connect, a shared experience, to build our friendship, to deepen intimacy, something creative, that is budget friendly.

In the midst of life we struggle to stay on top of dating each other well. We need a little help in planning this area of our lives. I like this idea but need something a little more practical.

I want to find a way to incorporate a list of creative ideas, with a place to store Groupons or notes that we have taken about things our spouse would like to do along with a list of baby-sitter’s names and numbers. A good goal.

This is where I will start to

create-order

in 2013.

Please let Joe know that I would really love him if he would build me that desk too! :)

Having a better station for “family communication” is definitely something I need to work on this year. We bought a cute little secretary desk last year, but Joseph hates it because he forgets that’s where I hide the mail. !!!!!
